Garage Floor in Brooklyn Park
This garage floor coating project in Brooklyn Park transformed a stained, pitted two-car garage floor into a showroom-quality surface near Palmer Lake Elementary. The homeowner wanted a durable, easy-to-clean floor that could withstand hot tire pickup, road salt, and chemical spills common in a Minnesota garage.
Surface preparation is the most critical step in any floor coating project. We diamond-ground the entire floor to create a proper concrete surface profile (CSP 2-3) for mechanical adhesion. All cracks were routed and filled with flexible polyurea filler, and any oil stains were treated with a concrete degreaser. The floor was then cleaned and moisture-tested before coating.
We applied a two-coat polyurea system: a pigmented base coat followed by a full-flake broadcast of decorative vinyl chips in a warm granite blend. After the flake coat cured, we scraped the surface smooth and applied a clear polyurea topcoat with anti-slip aggregate. The result is a glossy, seamless floor that resists chemicals, abrasion, and UV yellowing.
